Based on old Taoist folk lore, the Vinegar tasters represents the three perceptions of reality.
They all taste the same vinegar from the same bowl they stand on. The green fluid is representative of the earth and experiences we have in life.
The elephant perceives it is sour and examines it on his finger.
The Buddha like figure reacts bitterly and spits it out.
The fuzzy bunny guy thinks it is sweet.
All are tasting the same liquor. This tells us that our perceptions in part control are experiences in our reality.
